FAQ: Canvas print or foam board print for wedding reception?

This is one of the more common questions we receive. Customers often want to know the difference between canvas prints and foam board prints, to be used for their wedding reception.

Key differences:

  1. For canvas prints, we print on canvas sheet and wrap around a wooden frame. For foam board prints, we print on sticker sheet and mount on lightweight foam board.
  2. Canvas prints has a border whereas it is white on the edges for foam board prints.
  3. Canvas prints are heavier due to the material used being wood
  4. Canvas prints have a thicker side profile
  5. Visually, canvas prints has a textured look to it, similar to prints on fabric. This will be the “canvas” look that customers usually go for. The visual appearance of foam board prints is more similar to the marketing/ advertising materials we see in shopping malls.

One of the considerations is to secure (using tape) the foam board print if you are displaying it on an easel. You wouldn’t want to have your beautifully taken wedding photo flying about whenever your guests walk/ run past.

Usually, customers go for canvas if they want to hang it up in their house after the wedding. For foam board, is usually an economical solution and more for one-time use.
